GET PAID & RECOVERY

Balance Confirmation & Acknowledgement of Debt

Send at year-end or whenever dues have been pending for long. A written, signed acknowledgement given before the limitation period expires starts a fresh limitation period (Section 18, Limitation Act) and makes recovery much easier.

Fill in the details

3 of 9 required fields filled

6 required fields still empty — shown highlighted in the letter.

Laws this relies on

  • Limitation Act, 1963 · Section 18A signed written acknowledgement of liability, made before limitation expires, starts a fresh period.
  • Limitation Act, 1963 · Section 19Part-payment, acknowledged in writing, also extends limitation.

How to execute

Sign on your letterhead and send. No stamp paper needed.

Ask the customer to sign and stamp the confirmation section and return the original. A scanned/e-mailed signed copy also helps.

Click anywhere in the letter to edit it. Changes to the form keep flowing in.

This is a general template, not legal advice. Laws, stamp duty and procedures vary by state and change over time — have a qualified advocate review it for your facts before signing or sending.
